NC State Fair and Dr appts

Last Thursday Talbot had her yearly check up at 10 and Kaden had his 18 month (a month late) check up at 12. I took a sick day so I could go to both appointments. Talbot's went fine... she's lost almost 10 pounds since Kaden's been born! Apparently he keeps her busy and the daily walks are doing her good!

Kaden's appointment also went well... his head is in the 25%, his length is in the 20%, and his weight is in the 5%! He's doing perfect and doesn't go back until his 2 year appointment!

Instead of coming home to give Kaden a nap, we decided to head to the State Fair since we could actually visit the fair without the weekend crowds. We all had fun.

In one of the animal barns they had baby chicks that you could pick up and hold. I couldn't believe that I actually held one (the things you'll do for your kids!) but Kaden liked it. I then put it on his belly and he really wasn't sure what to think. He quickly started saying "no more, no more, no more".

Kids fun park with TV characters -- Kaden was so happy!

2 of his favorite characters!!! He walked around to the back of the cutouts and was a bit confused that they weren't "real" like they seem on TV!

We also visited a dog show, which he also loved.

The poodles were pretty hyper and Kaden kept saying "jump! jump!"

City boy --- he liked the cows A LOT so we had him "milk" a cow! He wasn't sure what to think of the cows up close

Then we went to a petting zoo. Kaden was scared of the goats and llamas at first, but quickly warmed up to them. He would bend down and get right in their face and start saying random things. It was hilarious. We called him the Goat Whisperer.
