water hose

After Kaden was done swimming (see next post) we all went for a walk in the woods. Matt carried Kaden in the backpack and Talbot got to go swimming. Then we got home. This was the cute man...happy as could be because he'd just stolen my cell phone!

We decided that Talbot really needed a bath. Kaden is usually confined to the swings when I'm bathing Talbot, but since it was nice out (and he'd be getting in the bathtub in an hour anyways) we let him walk around. He was totally intrigued. He wasn't sure what to think. (notice the sidewalk chalk he's just carrying around!)

Watching the bubbles on the ground.

Becoming more brave. He went over to the hose and started putting his hand in the stream of water.

He decided that was pretty fun.

Matt let him hold the hose with him and they both started rinsing off Talbot (you can see where this is going, right?!).

He then gave Kaden full control. I love the look on Talbot's face ...like, seriously, you're giving HIM the hose?

Kaden was BEYOND excited.

He then started walking around with the hose.

And spraying our house.

And the flowers and the storage unit door. (I LOVE the look on his face here)

Matt tried to take over control again, but Kaden let him know he wasn't done having fun yet. So he let him have a few more minutes.

........
The next day I was filling Kaden's pool for him to play in again. He instantly remembered the hose fun he'd had the previous day and wanted more. He picked up the hose (which was turned off at the time) and started trying to figure out how to get the water to come out.

And because he's such a sweet boy (and maybe, just possibly, a bit spoiled) I turned it on for him. His mouth instantly dropped when he started seeing the water come out. I'm not sure he ever closed it during the whole 10 minutes he got to play with the hose.

Funny boy. He picked up the hose like this (all on his own) and started walking around the pool.

So now every time we go outside to play, he walks over to the hose and tries to pull it off the wall. It's quite funny to watch. I'm sure this weekend if it's nice he'll get round 3 of water hose play!
