We're on the market....
We plan on moving next May after Matt graduates. We won't know where we're moving until the end of March on Match Day, so we'll have to update you all then!
We would ideally be able to move into a house when we move instead of moving into an apartment, finding a house, then moving again. We know no one is crazy enough to give us a 2nd mortgage in addition to med school loans, so we decided it was very important to get our house on the market (and hopefully SOLD) by next May so we can get find a house to move into when we move (does that make sense or only in my head?)! The sign is in our yard and it's now official! Scary but exciting!
I taught school with Monica and her husband is a Realtor for York Underwood Simpson. As soon as she told me Jordan was into real-estate I knew he would be a great Realtor for us. But he's actually the buyer's agent, so we're with his partner, Jill Flink (great name!).

For Aunt Debbie - Babybel
Kaden enjoys the cheese!!
(notice he's started to eat it-- it's on the table)
mmm...
He kept trying to get the cracker to stick in the cheese...finally, SUCCESS!

Grandma Sherri, Aunt Nicole, and Aunt Debbie
All came to visit last week. We had a lot of fun and were quite busy. Kaden didn't even have any stranger anxiety with them!! He frequently greeted them with a "hi, hi" every time he saw them. Here are a few pictures from their visit.
Several Kleckner relatives came from Davidson, NC and Herndon, VA to get together. We really enjoyed their visit and hope to make it to Davidson before moving next May. Here we all are (most of us!) eating lunch:
Kaden has ABC stickers that he was playing with at the restaurant. They kept him quietly entertained and he really enjoyed himself. Eventually he started putting the letters on his head!
We went to eat at the Angus Barn on Saturday night (a nice restaurant). We managed to get a pretty good family picture using the self-time and a fence post!

New Bathroom
During Aunt Nicole, Grandma Sherri, and Aunt Debbie's visit we painted the fence and painted our bathroom. (Fun, huh Nicole!) Nicole probably painted enough during her trip here to last her a few years! But she was SO helpful. Here are some pictures of our finished bathroom:
For those of you that have been to our house you'll realize it looks SO much better!

Playground & Feeding Ducks
After supper tonight we walked to the playground/pond near our house. I thought I'd share the pictures!
Going down the slide
With Talbot. At storytime at the library they sing "hot potato, hot potato" ...he's doing the actions to the song in this picture!
By the pond feeding the ducks -- I love how his little belly sticks out!
There are SO many ducks that come to eat the bread...but there are almost just as many turtles that beg. It's so funny to see little turtle heads in-between all the ducks!
Here is a brave turtle that came on shore to eat a piece that Kaden threw (not very far)
Throwing bread
There is only 1 white duck in the pond. It is crazy. It came up to us to eat the bread out of Kaden's hand, which freaked me out a bit, but Matt told me it was fine. So I gave Kaden a really big piece (so the duck couldn't reach his hand) and he held his hand out for the duck. As soon as the duck got close, he got scared and threw the bread on the ground!!
I love how Kaden's crying in the picture and the duck is staring at the bread on the ground, but too scared to come any closer!
We finished feeding the crazy white duck with Kaden in my arms
I held the piece of bread up like we do with our dog--- and the duck JUMPED for it!!!! If you look closely, you can see it's feet aren't on the ground!! CRAZY!

From the last couple weeks
I got Kaden a set of watercolors to paint with. He loves all types of coloring/painting, so I figured he would enjoy this, too. I was right. He had a lot of fun. It took me awhile to realize that it's okay for him to mix the colors (I can remember doing the same as a kid) so after I let him start taking control, he REALLY had fun!
Kaden loves eating Lucky Charms cereal. Well, really it's the marshmallows he enjoys. I gave him a handful of cereal in a cup the other day and he carefully carried it over to Talbot's bed. He sad by her and ate his cereal. Then he decided to dump it on her bed. ...the next bite was covered in hair! But they are still cute together, even if one sheds a bit more than the other!
I went through a bunch of boxes that were filled with my teaching supplies. I found some things I thought Kaden would enjoy. One is a crayon cup caddy. He loves playing with it (without crayons). He carries it around, put things in the cups, removes the cups, etc. He decided to carry the caddy (with only 1 cup) to the ball drop and fill the cup with balls. I love watching his brain work.
More water time outside! It's been 100 degrees here for so many days so finding things to do outside is a bit hard. On Friday I filled our pool and let Kaden & Juliet play in the water. They had a great time.
I have a feeling this picture may come back to haunt him in 15 years! Instead of using Huggies or Pampers swim diapers all the time (a bit wasteful for playing in the backyard) I bought Kaden a reuseable swim diaper at Target. I didn't see any point in putting him in his swim trunks to play outside with Juliet & I, so this is how he went -- hat, swim diaper, 2 watering buckets, and shoes! Although honestly the hat only made it long enough to take this picture!
Talbot got a bit warm and decided to join them.
Then Kaden started filling his watering bucket and carrying water up the steps into the grass.
He tried filling the cups on his own, but the water kept hitting the side of the cup, making the cup tip over. He was persistent though and eventually was successful!
Our neighbor Julie has a sprinkler that she uses to water her plants. Kaden decided to borrow it several weeks ago and we finally hooked it up!
checking it out...
running through the water
Kaden was being a twerp today and decided to get behind the TV (he knows he's not allowed back there). So instead of trying to get him out (it's VERY hard to reach and pull him up and out) I told him I was going to go see the cats (at Julie's house, which he LOVES to go see). I said "come on Talbot, bye Kaden"... I went to the door. I pretended to leave and instantly came back. It was enough to give him motivation to get himself out from behind the TV. However, this is how he was when I first came back. As soon as I clicked these pictures, he got out and walked right to the door (no tears at all - amazing how they instantly stop!). So, we went to Julie's house.
PS-- I promise I'm not a bad/mean mommy -- :).
